Home. Where the heart is and in my case, truly where the buffalo roamed and the skies are not cloudy all day. This is West Texas prairie.
As anyone who has spent much time here knows, this picture was taken after rain, lots and lots of rain! There is a beauty here that is undeniable. A parched land, quenched at last, life springing forth. What was almost desert, is now verdant, filled with frog song in the evening.
Home is more than a place. It is multiple dimensions of memories and love. This was my home.
So many good times, hard times, sometimes tears, but so much laughter and love. To have grown up on a farm and ranch with wonderful parents, awesome cousins about as close as siblings and fun, loving aunts and uncles, I know that I was blessed with a magical childhood and this place and home will always be more than either a place or a home, they will rest eternal in the brightest spot of memories, a well to draw upon during times of darkness.
One uncle in particular was always smiling, enjoying life and living it to the fullest. He was kind and gentle and raised his kids to be the same. He will be missed.
God bless Gary Scott Gober, rest in peace.

I love this! No one could have said it better. Brought tears to my eyes…
